With the reminiscence is a typed transcript (2 leaves) of what appears to be a newspaper article, possibly from the Los Angeles Times, dated Feb. 4, 1940, titled: Along El Camino Real with Ed Ainsworth, which features Chapin as having lived during the 1860 U.S. Census; the article was written during the 1940 census.
